Interest Rates are LOW LOW LOW

You have probably heard that interest rates are at an all time low and they are! And that means that it is a GREAT time to buy a home, or invest in a property. However, with the great rates also come some serious restrictions.

Lenders have become a lot more choosy as to for whom they will extend credit. Now more than ever, it is important to get your financial house in order. Get your bills paid on time, catch up on anything that is outstanding and brush up on your credit rating trivia.

Did you know that canceling a credit card can negatively affect your rating? You can also get pinged for transferring credit card balances, even incurring library fines and parking tickets! Knowing that there are seemingly innocent factors that can hurt your credit, and your opportunity to take advantages of these low rates is your key to being able to raise your rating.

If you are thinking about buying a home in the Charlotte area anytime in the next year, take the steps now to make yourself eligible for these LOW LOW RATES.

Home Sweet Home: Prepping Your Garden for Cool Weather Crops

Here in the Carolinas, the end of summer does not have to be the end of fresh, homegrown vegetables. However, many crops thrive as the cooler weather hits, so now is the time to get your garden ready to produce some amazing veggies.

First, remove debris such as fallen leaves and add compost to the soil. This area often has heavy clay and/or sandy soil, so mix in store-bought compost or your own. Your garden solid should be light, well aerated and drain well to avoid soggy conditions during the wet season. Mix in some fertilizer to give the plants the best environment.

The easiest thing to do is to buy transplants of Fall-hearty vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels spouts, cabbage, lettuce, scallions and turnips. Choose fast maturing varieties to get the most out of your harvest and enjoy!
